Sport Tracker is a workout and food tracker for Android. Your workouts, food log, recipes, body metrics and settings are stored in a database on your phone, so the app works offline, and synced to your account on this server. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking SDKs, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
Your account and sync
An account is needed to use the app — you sign in once, and after that it keeps working offline. Your account stores your email address, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself) and hashed tokens for your signed-in devices. While you are signed in, the app syncs your workouts, food and water log, recipes, body metrics and settings here so they appear on your other phones. Photos and AI API keys are never synced.
Your data is only readable by your own signed-in session. It is used to run the sync and for nothing else.
Services the app talks to
- Open Food Facts — when you scan a barcode or search for a food, the barcode or search text is sent to Open Food Facts, a free, non-profit food database. No personal data is sent with it.
- AI photo estimates (off by default) — only if you turn it on and tap Estimate or Refine, that one meal photo and any hint you typed are sent to the provider you chose (Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude), using your own API key. Their privacy policies apply to that request. Your API key is kept in Android's encrypted storage and only ever sent to its own provider.
-
Update check — the app asks this server for a small
version.jsonfile at launch, at most every 6 hours, to tell you when a new version is out. It sends no app data.
Android Health Connect (optional)
Health Connect is Android's on-device store for health and fitness data, shared between the apps you allow. Sport Tracker uses it only if you turn it on in Settings → Health Connect, and only for the types you switch on there and allow in Health Connect's own permission screen:
- Read: body weight and body fat (for example from a smart scale), which are added to your body log — and so sync to your account like the rest of it — and steps and active calories, which stay on your phone and are shown on the Dashboard and used to suggest your activity level.
- Write: your finished workouts (type, start and end time, name), the body weight you log, your food log entries (meal, name, calories, protein, carbs, fat) and the water you log, so your other health apps can see them.
Data from Health Connect is used only to show and calculate your own progress in the app. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone else. You can turn it off, or change what is allowed, at any time in the app or in Health Connect.
Things that stay on your phone
- Meal photos (unless you send one for an AI estimate).
- Backups and the error log — they only leave the phone if you share them yourself through Android's share sheet, to a place you pick.
- Reminders — they are scheduled locally; the app does not use push notifications.
Permissions
Camera — to scan barcodes and take meal photos. Notifications — for the workout and meal reminders you set up. Health Connect (optional) — to read and write the health data described above, only for the types you allow.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. That removes the account and everything synced to it from this server straight away, and the app removes your data from the phone too. Database backups of this server are kept for 14 days, so deleted data is fully gone after that. Like any web server, this one keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, time and address requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Children
Sport Tracker is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Sport Tracker is invite-only — for questions or a data request, contact the person who gave you your product code.
